Scientific leadership

Berekley 100 is governed by a scientific advisory board consisting of a group of internationally renowned scientists who will provide strategic guidance to ensure that the Berkeley 100 Challenges remains at the forefront of scientific inquiry.

These experts are selected for their groundbreaking contributions to their respective fields and their ability to identify transformative scientific problems.

The ten scientific committees

Each of the 10 scientific disciplines is guided by a Scientific Committee, composed of 5-10 leading scientists. These committees drive the intellectual core of the Berkeley 100 Challenges ensuring that each problem is well-defined, impactful, and solvable.

  • The committees will define 10 challenges within their respective fields

  • They will ensure solution criteria meet standards of scientific rigor

  • They will evaluate proposed solutions and assess breakthroughs
